You want to start making videos but you have no idea where to start when it comes to what kind of camera you should be using and how much you should be spending on it. I’m going to show you my roster of cameras that I use for all of my different types videos and the beauty is, the camera I’m using to film this video and that I use to film all of my tutorial videos is under $200.
To get goo quality and to get started in making videos you don’t have to break the bank at all. So I’m going to show you all the details today. And I just want to clarify I’m not being paid to talk about any of these products I’m not being asked to talk about any of these products, these are actually the cameras I’ve bought and they’ve worked the best for me and I know they’ll work for you too.
My mainstay camera that I shoot all of these tutorial videos on is my logitech c920 HD Pro Webcam, it’s not expensive it’s not fancy it is a webcam and it’s awesome! Part of the reason I love this camera so much is because it makes the shooting and editing process so easy! So you can see the webcam is on top of my computer and then it plugs into the USB port on the side of my computer and that means that I can easily shoot my clips on my computer and save them to the desktop immediately and then import them into my editing software, it’s a seamless, really easy process and much easier than taking your SD card off your camera and importing footage onto your computer.
Now for my everyday camera when I’m on the go, I turn to my iPhone 6. This is all I use, I know there are some gadgets that you can use to improve the camera quality, but I find the quality just fine.
I will link to some of those gadgets below for your reference, umm but I just find it easiest to use my phone when I’m trying to capture video on the go and do a really quick video update. My straight shooter is my Canon PowerShot Elph 330 HS, this is a really common vlogging camera.
I’ve taken this to Portland and Thailand and when I pre meditate a shoot and know that I’m going to be capturing footage, this is usually the camera I’ll take because the quality of the footage is really, really nice, plus the audio, if you don’t have your lavalier mic with you is actually quite good.
So for a little bit more of a pricey option, but still this camera is around $350 so still under $500, this is a great bet for you. And finally, you gotta have a GoPro! I got my GoPro a few months ago and I love it so much.
It is so much fun to travel with and it’s easy to travel with, it’s super small, it’s durable and it has a waterproof casing so when you want to shoot underwater you totally can and the footage is amazing.
It looks so, so good! Plus the pictures that this camera takes are really nice as well. So, highly recommend getting a GoPro for yourself, I have the Hero 3+ and I know there are other versions that have come out recently with the screen on the back, that’s also a really nice feature, so you can actually see what you’re filming, but I have had no problems with this at all, it works super well and I love the footage.
